The Autonomous Non-profit Organization “Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Audiology” was established in accordance with the by decision of the Presidium of the Russian Society of Audiologists in 2001.

Main Scientific Areas
- Research on the mechanisms of encoding and processing speech information in the auditory system;
- Study of the micromechanics of the organ of Corti through registration of otoacoustic emissions;
- Development of electrophysiological methods for diagnosing hearing impairments, based on the registration of various classes of auditory evoked potentials and otoacoustic emissions;
- Development of a comprehensive system for early detection of hearing impairments and their rehabilitation, starting from the newborn period
- Development of objective criteria for selecting parameters of electroacoustic correction and evaluating its effectiveness; Implantable technologies in the rehabilitation of children and adults with hearing loss and deafness;
- Development of approaches to comprehensive rehabilitation of children with developmental anomalies of the outer and middle ear;
- Development of issues in epidemiology and genetics of hearing impairments;
- Development of a system for genetic and universal audiological screening of newborns;
- Creation of mathematical models of the epidemiology of hearing impairments and mathematical forecasting of the prevalence of pathology and approaches to the rehabilitation of patients.
